This case covers a successful crane retrofit project for a foreign-funded precision machinery manufacturing enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A 5-ton FEM standard low-headroom wire rope electric hoist manufactured in China was exported for the project. The customer’s newly built workshop had extremely high requirements for the headroom, smooth operation, and positioning accuracy of the hoisting equipment. After multiple rounds of technical selection, the customer finally abandoned traditional Japanese and local brands. They selected the FEM/DIN compliant lightweight FEM standard hoist. After manufacturing, the equipment smoothly passed customs and was exported to the project site in Vietnam. According to international standards and local laws, it passed the strict on-site static load test for lifting equipment at one time and was officially delivered to the production line.

The core configuration of this 5t FEM standard hoist was upgraded and customized. This addressed the high-temperature and high-humidity industrial environment in southern Vietnam, alongside strict customer requirements for trolley traveling and lifting positioning. The following table lists the core technical parameters delivered for the project:

After installation at the Vietnam site, engineers from the Vietnam National Center for Technological Safety Inspection co-hosted the test. This tested steel structure strength and braking safety performance.

The product passed strict overseas third-party testing and received high praise, directly benefiting from its pure European engineering design:
Three months after delivery, the Vietnamese customer sent back official technical feedback. The report pointed out that the 5t FEM standard hoist performed excellently in hoisting and positioning precision machinery molds. Its micro-speed operation reduced the mold docking impact rate to zero. Meanwhile, thanks to the high protection class design, the equipment experienced zero electrical failures in the high-humidity environment of the Vietnamese rainy season.

Engineering Conclusion: The 5t FEM standard hoist successful export and passing of the 1.25 times static load test prove that this series reaches international first-line standards. It excels in structural lightweighting, braking safety factors, low-headroom design, and harsh industrial environment adaptability. This project not only saved building infrastructure costs for the customer, but also established technical and quality advantages for the company in the Southeast Asian high-end industrial equipment market.
